In Iron and Blood 4, Japan's Nippon region corresponds to the historical core islands of the Japanese archipelago: Honshu, Kyushu, and Shikoku, and their immediate affiliates. Their modern provincial subdivisions correspond to the OTL prefectures; while Hokkaidō and Okinawa are commonly grouped with Nippon geographically, they are administered as part of Kitaezo and Taiwan, respectively.

Minor hue edit of the flag of Japan, uploaded to the now-defunct IOT Wiki in 2019, replacing JohannaK's original raster.
