Yes, I totally turned that speech on its head. It's also the first (maybe only) time I explicitly describe the Union as communist, although even I'm not sure just how far left it truly leans.

In spite of the Soviet flair of my enterprise, this comic highlights that postwar Europe is not Cold War Europe. I actually think, at this moment, the Union has a closer bond with the FWA than Coruscant, despite the latter being an unofficial ally for at least two years.

Guilhem Drouault is named after a colleague of mine from some years ago, but any resemblance is entirely coincidental. Guilhem, if you're reading this, I apologize.
