You examine your folio of PLOT UPDATES. You've been sort-of vaguely following the gist of the story while your underlings keep tabs on the specific developments. It's been so long since your [LAST APPEARANCE](https://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=9150940#post9150940), you wonder if anyone actually knows you're still around. You skim through the folio for a suitable starting point to your glorious return to the forefront of this story.

Ah, a profile on MARIKO ANTILLES, the latest in CIVGENERAL's progression of imperial megalomaniacs. Her grand scheme and short- term goals seem contradictory, and her rise to power is riddled with LOGICAL FALLIBILITY. She spends her time stroking her ego and heartlessly murdering anyone she doesn't like; in short, a textbook jerkass who nobody is wont to miss. You decide she will make the perfect target. Bumping her off will be a favour to the rest of the world, and you'll inherit a fairly substantial INTERSTELLAR BATTLE FLEET for your effort.

Taken together, this comic is the story of how I finally read Homestuck. I had made two false starts prior, once shortly after the conclusion of Problem Sleuth and then another maybe about a year or so later. Trying to figure out mythmonster2's avatar led me to the MSPA Wiki months before I was inspired to do this; at the time I hadn't realized Jack was a Homestuck character.

The script was constructed backwards based on snippets I'd read on the wiki, starting from "You could not kill the girl" and building a comic around it. Ever the perfectionist, to ensure I got Jack's nuances right, I hunkered down late December and read the entire archives in under a week. Originally the cartoon was to be done in "my" style, but when I began, I suddenly had the stroke of genius to imitate the MSPA format.

I'm very happy with the result.
