Bye Bye Sports
Bye Bye Sports by @deaddays (John Rios)

Well, my schools done it again. You see, we're really poor these days because of the crappy California budget cuts, so WE CUT 4 SPORTS! That's right, we just removed them from exsistence at my college! WHO DOES THAT??? NO ONE! No one just LOSES stuff like cross-country and swimming, but we have. Oh, but we kept Basketball and Football. That's for sure. WHY? Because those sports bring in the big bucks. They totally just cut those other sports because they're not a draw, thus don't make us money. My school is very money hungry right now it seems. Oh, well, it is a college after all. They all do it I guess. But still.

Made this piece to run Friday with a editorial discussing this outrage. I'm happy that this piece works fine (if not better) with no Grays in it what so ever! Just call me B&W GURU. Or at least B&W apprentice. C'mon you can give me that much. Artwork © Copyright 2003 John Rios

My sympathies, John. Back in backwater Newbury in NE Ohio, they are trying to pass a $7 million levy. If it fails, then Newbury High School is threatening a half-million dollar cut, removing a great deal of things over here, such as wrestling, marching band, art, and other essential high school requirements! It's only natural to be upset over such a thing.
