@SheevraSidhe0274: Compared to Wellington, the Auckland terminal is very much an "international airport", but it didn't feel as hectic as most other countries' main hubs.
Certainly one of the better-lookng. :p

A Side 7 exclusive! International Terminal of the Auckland Airport as seen from the parking lot. A separate terminal serves domestic flights; originally these were separate buildings, but were linked by a common area as part of renovations in 2013.
Something I immediately noticed is that the cars are mostly models a decade old, if not older. As my friend recounted, the country's auto market revolves around overseas imports; the temperate climate combined with DIY repair culture means that despite New Zealand having one of the highest per capita rates of car ownership, second-hand vehicles dominate the roads.
