Flag of Sichuan (IOT14) by @Thorvald (El Thorvaldo)

The People's Republic of Sichuan was Bair_the_Normal's country in Imperium Offtopicum XIV. Arriving some turns into the game, it confounded christos200's Japan and its """peacekeeping""" mission in China, refusing to join the ominously-named Co-Prosperity Sphere, and suggesting it intended to pursue its own not!imperialism over Vietnam. When Japan launched a full-scale invasion of the UN mission in Vietnam, Sichuan joined the coalition. Chengdu subsequently declared itself the de jure government over all of China, reconstituting as the "Grand Union of the Six Nations"; proving Maxim 29, it attempted to expel Korea from Beijing and Manchuria by force despite being nominal allies against Japan in a flashpoint considered so ridiculous that the game moderator threatened to arbitrate. Ironically, after Japan's utter collapse, China and Korea united as one of the game's iconic condominiums; forsaking its old allies, the "Greater East Asian Republic" threatened to intervene on behalf of the Soviet Union when the latter's late-game invasion of Anatolia met armed international opposition.
