Cloth Study
Cloth Study by @jeaney1 (Sara Timmons)

This is a study of a sheet thrown over a chair.

It's good to do something like this when learning how to draw creases in clothes and other fabrics.

Wonderful job. I've done similar studies before ^_^ I really like the way you portrayed the form underneath and the creases towards the bottom. The only suggestion I would make is to darken up some of your shadows a little and add some more tonal variety, in order to give the subject a little more "pop."

When I was in school I always tried to draw perfectly true to life, but my teacher (who is a professional artist that's worked with hundreds of rock stars/celebrities) told me that it's best to take a little artistic liberty and add some more depth to your pieces.

Thanks for your comments ^_^

Hey, that's some good advice. I'm going to take that, definetly. :) Sometimes it helps to read all the comments on an artwork, too!

Thank you for the suggestion, It helps, sadly I tore the page by accident though, so I may not fix this one. I may do another later though. ^_^

I agree with the former comment about darkening the shadows. Lightening the highlights with perhaps a piece of white charcoal would be helpful, too. This is a nice piece of work, I enjoy seeing studies like this. Keep 'em up!

^_^ I think just about everyone could use a little more practice, because every time you look at something like that, you learn something new.
