Innenleben
Innenleben by @Manuela (Manuela Hoflehner)

The title means 'inner life', a theme for a contest that I didn't enter because I didn't have the time to do the picture. But the idea remained stuck in my head, so I finally came around drawing the picture. Kenshin seemed to fit the idea perfectly. I'm not very happy how the clothes came out. Folds have never been my strong side. But I really like his face. That's always a tough part when trying to render an anime character in a semi-realistic style.

Fascinating concept! I love how everything is realistically drawn, and then he has this cartoony puppets in his chest. This is so beautifully done. I can't even tell if it's in real media or digital media, care to tell me which one? =) It's very interesting how you took Kenshin out of anime style and converted him into realism style, it looks like a differcult thing to do! However, i do think Kenshin would have a "sharper" chin, but as I said, it's very differcult to convert anime to realism, and you did a spectacular job!

No real media, it's all done in Photoshop with a Wacom tablet. To be true, I suck at Anime style. I've tried and never got a decent drawing, so I prefer doing the characters realistically. And - of course - it's easier to drool over a realistic character ;-)
