Good work, Nadia. =) Congratulations on the simple, yet effective background! I seem to have a tendency to either overdo the background, or leave it out completely ^^;;; Good CGing too -- especially the texture of the flower's leaves and the shadows of Mr. Saturn's whisters. ^_^

I've never played Earthbound myself before, but I've watched my fiance play, and we've both played Super Smash Bros. Melee, so I'm familiar with the adorableness that is Mr. Saturn. Their quote "Breathe is good" inspired this springtime picture. It was actually drawn for Spring 2002, but due to ongoing monitor problems, it wound up being CGed a couple of months ago. I tried putting extra care into the CGing. The hardest part was trying to find a way to render the grass, and I think the filter I used turned out well. Some details were lost upon shrinking the image, but I still really love it! :D The title text was created with the super-cute Earthbound font.

I usually wind up leaving out a background, too, or just sticking a solid color or gradient, but I felt that Mr. Saturn deserved a little more... And since I wasn't sure how to render Saturn Valley, I thought a little circle of grass would work just as well... Simplicity is good sometimes!

Awwww, I love Mr. Saturn. This so cute and I'm glad you finally finished it (it's odd saying finally when I'm a month late in the commenting, but you know what I mean), it turned out well. I know you took issue with doing the background, but I think you got all you needed out of it.
