Bubble-gum Hallucinations
Bubble-gum Hallucinations by @denise (Denise Chan)

Aaaghh!! Birds are my biggest crutch, artistically - one of the few things I can draw reasonably well with my brain turned off.

I had Photoshop open, as a sort of hideously overgrown palette-mixer while I tested out colours and copied their HTML codes into my Livejournal layout, and I liked the purple blob an awful lot, and, and...

Well, it is clear that my brain was certainly not switched on, at any rate.

WHAT? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU COULD DRAW BIRDS THIS WELL?? Birds make NO sense to me.

(points to AST) I want a tutorial, young lady!

meekly Yes, Ma'am! As soon as I figure out what goes on - I'm generally not thinking about drawing birds when I'm drawing birds, if you get my drift. xD

Thank you! :D Really glad you like it.

I threw together a 'tips for drawing birds' page, if you're interested - http://www.idenise.net/misc/art/bird/

They are interesting wee critters, aren't they?

Goodness, I don't know how I managed to overlook this one! Sorry it's taken me so long to reply!

Thanks for the comment - and yeah, I do randomly print bits of art and use them as bookmarks (I'm always losing them, so it makes no sense to actually pay good money for a 'proper' bookmark! ^^) Lots of good stuff comes out when brains are turned off - sadly, for me, it's usually the same thing (bird bird bird). Gets boring after a while, but who am I to argue with my brain? xD

...Misshapen dragon/cat critters, on the other hand - now THOSE sound interesting...
