Building of a World-New Avalon GrandLaner Project In Minecraft
Building of a World-New Avalon GrandLaner Project In Minecraft by @XxTheCreativeKitsunexX (XxTheCreativeKitsunexX)

Here was the beginning of what would be my LARGEST Airship for the Project, the SS Behemoth.

This huking monstrosity was almost the size of one whole half of my city I was building and sported 3 floors with one giant bay area for smaller airships to dock and take off.  The idea was the Behemoth was both a battle ship and a rescue vessel that would be deployed to vast areas of New Avalon should any emergencies occure.  The ship would have a cargo area, gymnasium, theatre room, 36 rooms for crew members, mechanics, entertainment staff and medical and dental employees.  A 5 Star restraunt would be built into the ship not only offering the best foods and drinks for both rescuees and crew members, but also the cutting edge in kitchen and cooking technology.

I wanted to show just how big I wanted my airships would be in this project and what to expect going forwards at how important these ships would be in all sorts of situations both domestic and exploration wise.  The design was heavily inspired by the Anime Robotek or as anyone into anime knows it as Macross.  I also took inspiration from naval aircraft carriers as well and a heavy dose of star wars star destroyers.

This part of the build focused entirely on the structure and look of the ship and would when the finalized design was nailed down the rest of the ship would be built afterwords.

Cor I love that bridge.

The thumbnail has a strong carrier vibe, so small surprise this would be the pride of the fleet. Back when I started that LEGO project, the end goal was space battleships at full scale, but just the screens became too intimidating—probably shouldn't have leaped straight into megastructures when I'd never built anything complicated without instructions. :^) A ship this big with fully-detailed quarters is one heck of an undertaking; did you draft a rough blueprint for the layout, or was it a trial-and-error process?

@Thorvald: There is no greater blueprint then the one printed in the mind of the creator.  I did this in one fell swoop I already knew what I wanted to build and simply tore into the production process like a man posessed, my ever waking and sleeping moment I was seeing both the internal and external designs in my head and simply worked off that.
