CivCube made a number of proposals on how to take a new twist on how DYOS was run, all of which had merit, but also were characteristic of a 'game' mentality. I was intrigued but non-committal, and for good or ill the proposal passed by without any real consensus.
The image in Panel 4 is a wallpaper inspired by Command & Conquer: Generals I'd acquired some time before; I can't remember where I originally found it, but this is the only reference I could dig up.

Randomizer Pannel: That's Stylesrj? I thought they were a bunch of SEAL operatives and not Stylesrj's theme of "SEAL X".
Compedative Play: Thorvald, we have Imperium Offtopicum at home. Though it's a desolate wasteland now.
