The Wizard Of Zaar

So ah, I'm putting it on record.

I want to do something new, away from my current ideas.

Something small scale, and essentially like a...

Mythology, gods and heroes, potentially small scale Trojan war-esque story.

About heroic figures, tragedy, feuds, vendettas, pacts with cruel gods.

I have a hard time articulating it... Definitely mortal centric, but told in a way where these people are larger than life and they're wrapped up in something much bigger than they are... But they themselves can't even see the trees for the forest.

But how to keep it small scale?

Bigger than a mere tribal conflict, but I'm not looking to go ridiculously deep or depict an vast world.

There may even be details intentionally left out. It's part of why Abrahamic lore is so appealing to me, because so much is taken for granted by those who documented it.

Depicting ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia or the Levant didn't require such detail and exposure because... It was of their time, they didn't feel the need to paint such a detailed portrayal; they preserved what they felt was important and out of the norm.

If that makes sense.

I have to think on this.

Oooh this sounds interesting... And yeah, taking a break from your main story/stories for a while is a good thing, because when you do something else for a bit, it might spark something that you can add to your other ones. It's refreshing. I'd like to hear more about this, any doodles or WIPs yet?
