This is a picture I did when I was feeling a little depressed at my skills as an artist. I was looking over Goldenwolf's gallery, and just sitting there thinking how great she is and how I totally suck compared to her, so I worked on this picture for like 2 hours. shrug My mom and dad think it's cool... I did an alright job on it... something is funky about his arm on his leg though.. to me.. or maybe I'm just being too critical of myself as usual... but yeah. So here you go.

why do you want to even compare yourself to another artist? sure Golden is terrific and all, but thats HER style. Look at Kyoht, Starfinder, Megan Giles.. they're all kinda copying each others style. its all good art but shows that someone has no ambition to make up their own style.

I don't like to compare myself, but sometimes it just happens, to everyone. Ppl compare their art to mine, and I know they shouldn't, cuz they're their own artist. I'm not exactly how to take this comment though.. are you saying that I am copying style's? For one... it's more realistic as a real wolf, so who's style am I copying? Gods? Also, I'm not saying I want to draw just like Goldenwolf, I just look up to her and she inspires me, but sometimes I just get down when I think of how much more I could do if I put my mind to it. So do you like the picture or not? You didn't actually say anything about the picture.. cuz uh.. that's what these comment thingy's are for... But thanx for.. um.. attempting to say you like my art, though you didn't actually say it.. but I'm not copying.... -_-;

Jules, I TOLD you that you're improving! I TOLD you! DO NOT compare your artwork to anyone else's! Everyone has their own style, so it's impossible to, anyway. I FORBID YOU TO THINK OF YOURSELF AS A BAD ARTIST!! No one else could do this for their life. Just LISTEN to all your fans! They ADORE your art! you know what i meant when i said copy. the whole biology of the figure, the long hair, and the native american theme. All three artists i mentioned do the same exact thing. and well yeah i do like your art. its good stuff, but this one right here got my attention. so sorry if i offended you. just using this comment box for the purpose it was intended for. commenting does not mean you MUST praise or put down someones art.

Okay, you don't have to praise or put down, but you also don't have to tell me that I'm being a copy-cat and being mundain an unorignial. You are assuming that I looked at Goldenwolf's art and suddenly want to draw exactly like her w/ the Indian look and everything. For you information, I have been interested and liked Indians/Native Americans and such since I was like 12 years old. This is nothing new, so don't jump to conclusions thinking that I am just doing the same thing other ppl have done. There's also nothing wrong with experimenting and showing something different. If you don't like it, then you don't have to look at it.

Hey this is cool. Reminds me of somebody's drawing of a cute lil indi lupe ^^ But it's on the other com and I can't remember his or his owners name ^^;;; Jules you have beautiful art. I know what you mean about comparing...heh I do it too. (You got me into this "heh" stuff now! ¬¬) But there is always room for improvement and you improve every day. GOSH look at your fans, they'll tell ya! Anywayz...lotsa peeps have cool art and yours is one of em, just remember that..hehe. LOVELY piccy, I likes alot ^-^

Miss Oasis. There is no need for you to get all depressed just because you think that someone's art work is better then yours. Compared to me I'd be lucky if I could draw stick people. The fact is there is always going to be someone better then you throughout your life, but all you need to know is that tons of people love your artwork including me. Well I hope you feel better.

But seriously, we should be happy instead. Seeing something as beautiful and inspirering, which we can learn from too. ^^
- You should colour this picture and print it and put it into a frame. ^^ - It's so wolfish and natural and the way you do the fur without mess it all up is unbeliveable. ^^

Julie, you're pulling a me. I know that tons of artists do this to themselves, but out of all the artists I know I do it the most. I actually compared myself to Goldenwolfen before I even found out about you. So, I've compared myself to almost every artist out there, and found them to be better than me. But one thing that I've always tried to remember is something that you yourself told me, "Keep trying and don't give up. Sure they might be better than you now, but you're still learning." So don't beat yourself up July. You're a great artist and I know, that if you work hard, your pictures will be just as good at Goldens. And I think that you're more than halfway there.

Julie, you're an amazing artist and dont let others--or even yourself--make you think otherwise. lolz i knew u would get alot of comments about feeling depressed about it... but really...u shouldnt feel depressed!ur art is great!and dont let anyone make u feel different about it!do what yo like because u like it!dont think of if others will all that matters is that ur happy with it!i know i am...your art makes me feel happy! ok, firstly, Julie, if u cant look at your art and realise how good it is maybe you should start banging it against ur computer to knock some sense into urself! honestly, how old are you? i know its hard to take stick from people but the fact that you dont give up and continue drawing in itself proves that you dont really believe them ^^ you really have improved and there's just no point in comparing your art to Goldenwolfs, its too different, believe me, ive tried and it gets you nowhere, you are an EXCELLENT artist and you no that deep down, you go girl! second, to ppl who are implying or just outright saying that julie is copying goldenwolfs artwork, why not stop and take an actual good look at both hers and goldenwolfs work. firstly, julies anthros are much more human-like that golden's, and goldens are ALL sort of wolfy-style, whereas julies are'nt. also, just look at this picture, there are loads of things different than goldenwolf's, the face is different, and julies wolf doesnt have any decoration or anything phew! meh tirade is over and now im gonna faint with exhaustion! faints

Is it just me or is upbent leg a little off with the wrist? what COULD be the problem could be well... the foot/paw makes it look like it's not turned, while the "ankle" thing and calf looks like it's turned.... but besides that.... he looks really... u guessed it ^^ studdly wink mmm.... muscular arms ^.^ oh and his wrist on the arm on his leg could be what's kinda off there, like it's too long for a wrist kind of thing or it's just bent enough or too much... havn't figured out which as of yet....^^;

You must be kidding me, Julie. You're art is amazing and it doesn't suck at all compared to whatever it is. You are better then a lot of people out there, and even though there may be better ones for some of your pictures, you have to remember that your style 100% original and that's what really matters. I'm not saying you're not good at getting ideas from Goldenwolf, but I'm saying your art is sooo unique that's what makes it special, and all the flamers who make fun of your art are really like your art, just don't want to admit it. But all of your pictures are outstanding and awesome, and everyone knows how hard you put in to your work to be able to draw like that. Uh... The end. o.o;;;

Awww! Julie! I know we all do that, but I wish you wouldn't, I hate to see you sad ;_; your art is VERY beautiful, and so many people envy you, I can't imagine why you would ever feel sad about your work! This picture is great too and you know I'm one of your biggest fans! :) Cheer up cuz your the bes artest in the universe! I'm serious, you against all the peole on earth then all the aleins... I've seen their stuff, not as good as you! :)

You should do more of these Julie, just drawing to draw. It doesn't have to be a certain character or anything like that, just draw these things to draw. Emotion drawings are also a good thing, when you feel alot of emotion, and you draw, you're emotion seems to just fall out onto the paper. It's like you're puting part of yourself into your art, and that's what every artist shoots for. I'm not saying that you should compare yourself to other artists, I'm saying that strong emotion's are the basis of any good drawing. This drawing is one of the best I've seen you do, and that was because I can see the emotion that you felt when you were drawing this, in this picture. Ok, I hope that I haven't confused you, I do that alot, to myself even. But, I hope that you understand. Keep up the good work Julie!

Miss Young, I don't ever want to hear you say that you suck again, there is no reason for you to, and it would be a lie anyway....but I'd also like to thank you for saying it, if you hadn't drawn this and said that I wouldn't have stopped to think about how much I compare art to yours, and now I know I shouldn't....I probably sound really weird, but I don't mind...I think it has something to do with locking myself in my room while reading fantasy novels, and banging my head on the door when I have writer's block...Oh well... JULES!!! YOU ARE AN AMAZING ARTIST! Yes there are good other artists and all and Goldenwolf is one of them but YOU are just as good or even better than any of those other artists! (no offense to other artists intended!) You're my FAVORITE artist on side7! You have SO many fans of you, your creativity, your characters, EVERYTHING! Keep your chin up you're an artist with amazing talent! I do understand the inspiration from Goldenwolf (as I myself have gotten some too.) but don't compare yourself or be so critical on yourself!!! By the way, the arm and the leg and all look fine. :)

Golden*wolf. XD She's an artist that sells her art from home and online, most of her work is done with colored pencils and it takes her hours to make. Hours upon hours I'm sure. I just admire her artwork and it's helped me with mine as well, as most great artists do. ^^;; She also lives about 5 hours away from me.. how funny is that? hehe.
This is amazing Julie, don't ever doubt yourself! His arm does not look funny to me at all, it looks proper and proportionate. His feet and hands looks awesome too, with the whole half hand hand paw thing. claps loudly Excellent work!
