The opening map is a segment from the Civ2 user scenario "World at War", with most of the units added in post, only a handful of which appear in the scenario itself. One will notice that every Union-held city has its respective national flag, while French conquests fly only the Tricolor!

This comic was supposed to be my avatars' break from kulade after Bjørn takes charge, symbolizing that like "me", they believe the state comes first. @GenMarshall completely disregarded this when he introduced the Combine later in the story.
