A Side 7 exclusive! The Busby Head ridgeline lies to the west of Smugglers Bay. On the other side of this outcrop to the north is a WWII-era coastal battery overlooking Whangarei Harbour. Unfortunately we were on a schedule and couldn't afford the hike out.

Across the bay, the Marsden Point Refinery can be seen in the lower right.

@EyeballEarth: I believe principal filming was mostly South Island, but yeah, no surprise why Jackson wanted to bring it home.
