Tribute to fellow DYOSer taillesskangaru, originally dated April '11.

From DYOS 10 onward, Taillesskangaru is much less the typical action-hero protagonist and much more of an everyman. Unfortunately, it makes him a prime and vulnerable target for the myriad of evil empires and villainous persons who inhabit the story, and throughout Plans Within Plans he's scrambling from one near-death experience to another. In this piece I thought I'd give him the opportunity to respond to his opponents.

This was the first entirely digital illustration (at least, the only one worth showcasing) I did, created using the GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP); it was simple, but fun. Sand textures were done using bump-mapping tools. The T-72 was traced from a screenshot arranged in Operation Flashpoint/ArmA: Cold War Assault.

We agreed if this ever becomes a legitimate project, we'll do it for Broadway. With real explosions.
