breathes a heavy sigh of relief
I'm SO happy this is over! I've been working on this for the longest time, probaby b/c I was too lazy to finish it all in one sitting ^^;; Actually, this is the largest Derwent artwork that I've ever done, and naturally Derwents take a lot of time to work with, so this picture did kinda test my patience, LOL.
I dedicate this to my cousin Milcah, also known as Micah here, who was with me when I started drawing this ^__^.
This image uses a lot of techniques and experimenting that were totally random. One example would be the background -- It's actually VERY primitive. All it is was just putting a doily underneath and lightly colouring overtop, to get a pattern in various colours. Then I darkened the borders, and added a few miscellaneous designs. This was inspired by manga-genius, Watase Yuu of course ^^. The colour theme was first planned, as a warm red for Naru, and a cold blue/green for the foreground and background, but somehow the background just became a whole collage of colour and pattern ^^
And to Miyuki, yes, it's my style ^^ I forgot to point that out before, lol, thanks for reminding me. I've actually never seen Love Hina, and have very little visual refernce of her, so when I come across animes I'm unfamiliar with I tend to substitue my character style (mainly bishoujo) for it :-)
Hope you liked it! Thanks for viewing :-)
Peace. Love. Anime.

I really like the background. The dolie texture makes for an intresting background without distracting from the rest of the picture. The detail on the flowers and dress are intresting.
I think that the shadeing around the neck might be a bit dark but then again that could just be me.
All in all a great pic, ~Crys
