LittlePrayer-Doom-That's One Doomed Space Marine by @XxTheCreativeKitsunexX (XxTheCreativeKitsunexX)

Alone on a Dead Station-

The radio crackles waking the marine from a deep slumber, reaching his hand out he grabs the radio and clicks the receive button on to listen to the chatter. His eyes shoot open wide as he hears the cries screams and the sounds off gunfire over the radio. The Station he was sent on to investigate strange occurrences that had been happening was under attack!

Getting up he notices the lights flickering and from the corner of the room he hears something. Grabbing his gun he quickly points in the direction of the sound to see one of his comrades standing there but something is very off about him. His flesh is peeling off and he is dripping blood everywhere, he begins to advance quickly and without thinking the marine pulls the trigger planting a bullet into the eye of his one time friend dropping him to the floor, a twitching corpse.

Hurrying outside he is shocked to find the walls are completely covered in blood and he is stepping in human remains, what happened when he was asleep and HOW was it he was still alive. One thought persisted though, he needed to radio headquarters back on earth about what was happening. The marine runs through the halls dodging flaming Hellish looking creatures who chuck molten fire at him with their bare hands. Ducking and weaving and shooting anything that moves the marine finally makes his way to the radio room and is horrified to find the electricity has been cut.

Nearby the corpse of another marine lies slumped over a console and in his hand is a keycard needed to go to the lower part of the station where the generators are located. Without hesitation he rips the card from the corpse's hand and makes his way down...but along the way he realizes he is being followed...or hunted by something lurking in the dark corners of the station that is now barely lit and on life support for the emergency lighting, flickering lights give an eerily terrifying glow to the halls he runs through. He is attacked by all manner of hellish creatures and even his own former team mates who have been twisted and driven mad by something.

He makes his way to the lower decks all the while blasting everything and everyone he meets that offers resistance. He finds himself in the generator room and scrambles about searching for the entrance to the generator room but first...he must traverse the large open room that leads to the generator. The radio crackles once again and the marine picks it up, on the other side a guttural growl emanates from the speaker along with some otherworldly talking that is horrifying to listen to. He drops the radio as it begins to melt burning away at his hand.

Then he hears it...the thing that has been hunting him this whole time And it is hungry.

The marine points his gun in the direction of the sound from in front of him, the darkness broken by a flickering light illuminating something unbelievably huge standing in front of the marine. The marine pulls the trigger only to lose all hope when the gun gives off a resounding click. out of ammo!

So close to the generators and so close to radioing for help the marine can do nothing as the giant figure runs towards him. His last thought is his family back at home and the life he had before this all transpired. Hopefully someone is still alive and hopefully they find my corpse!

The last sound heard is the scream of the marine that echos out to all corners of the station Then...silence.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! This track is BEST played with headphones on lights off and at night. ENJOY!

I've barely played the original games so I don't actually know the franchise's precise balance between bona fide horror and splatterhouse spectacle, but this definitely weighs toward the former. I never saw the film, but this feels a wholly-appropriate score to an opening sequence setting the stage. One wonders how many it took to get to the Doom Slayer. D:

@Thorvald: Doom 3 was the main inspiration to this track not the movies as the movies were straight up b grade garbage not fit to use the franchise name or material. Doom 3 used an all new lightening engine that ID software produced and instead of doing the whole shooting demons in the face like Doom 1 and 2 did...they opted to make it into a horror survival action game which had become very popular thanks to resident evil. Doom 3 introduced jumps scares and elements of horror movie additions from the creepy soundtrack to the sounds that echoed out your speakers. I had originally planned to make this track in the style of Doom 2016 or Doom Eternal by doing the whole Mick Gordon style but decided I wanted to try my hand at horror music instead. It took 2 months of planning and making a story back drop that would make the music come alive. The sounds I used are all new and have never been used before from the creepy woman's voices to the screams and sound effects. I also opted to record scary demon like noises and growls to enhance the fear inducing music. I originally intended to make this play over loud speakers on halloween but it would have mentally scarred kids and people with low thresholds for horror. *In the end the track was completed and uploaded to FurAffinity where a good portion of my music goes first as it has the highest amount of viewers and commenters. The track did fairly well and was just a prelude as to what might happen this halloween. *

@Thorvald: *For some of them yes they were originally mp3 free sample recordings but the demon tracks were all done by yours truly along with the backwards talking voice. *

This is definitely a fantastic piece to set the scene. Definitely worthy of DOOM. Great job!

@BadKarma_*:Little tid bit of information- The ending originally was meant to have sound effects of the marine being eaten alive but by that time because I was composing this in the dark to get the overall atmosphere down, I decided against it cause the music already creep'd me out already._ *
