Emma Watson
Emma Watson by @jfong (Janna Fong)

Another portrait. This time of Emma Watson. I can't wait for the Half-Blood Prince! :3

This took a lot longer than my Aya Hirano picture, mostly because I kept re-coloring her face. I couldn't get the colors to blend like I wanted them to. There's still a lot of smudgy places, but I'm satisfied with it. I'm most happy with how the eyes turned out. Again, I need more practice on hair...

Done in Photoshop. Photo reference used.

The likeness is incredible, and the work you put into her skin really shows: it looks so soft and smooth! I think you have the right idea with the hair; if you feel you need more improvements on it, maybe experiment with thinner brush strokes, like you did on her eyebrows. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to tell that this was a painting and not a photograph. ^^

Thank you for the tip! I'll have to try that on my next portrait. :3
