I think it's for the better that the thread for Deviantart is closed now + Etc

I say this because I didn't get to say anything before that thread closed, and yeah, nothing good ever happens on Deviantart, I still question why people keep joining that dying website imho. (I'm still not a fan of wanna-be professionals either but that's just my little comment.) I might make a social commentary drawing about wannabe hollowood people, then Dovenina kicks them all out for their smug arrogance in general, yeah, Dovenina deeply dislikes arrogant people altogether, alongside some of them wanting to get hired over petty bogus reasons too.

One word: momentum. Like I said re. YouTube, it is extremely difficult to break an entrenched monopoly, especially when there's no ready and prominent alternative. @EyeballEarth plugged a piece by Cory Doctorow last year, and the most important takeaway for our purposes is how the audience entraps the creator: it's easy to join S7, but as I've lamented (with ever-mounting fury), getting so-called mutuals to follow your move is a total crapshoot, and I'm just a hobbyist—freelance commissioners risk losing paying clientele, meaning even if they do join new sites, they're still glued to the old one. Consider FurAffinity: it's a dumpster fire of nepotistic management, incompetent moderation and obsolete architecture that's making me understand how people still tolerate B*zzly, but it's basically the only site where the whole fandom congregates, so either you suffer the muck or deny yourself an audience.

@Thorvald: I would just suffer the muck, it’s also up to the person if they want to join S7 too tbh. Hopefully I’ll set up that glaze inspired program to use on my DeviantArt posts in the future.
