Thinking of coding my own store + etc
07 Nov 2023, 05:06 PM

Since Teespring, Shopify and Customink didn’t make me satisfied at all, I’m thinking of coding my own merch store, or finding another merch selling site wheee I don’t only have to use PayPal, I should’ve thought of this more often tbh.

@Thorvald: One last thing too is that I want to be independent from campanies too, again, I might be asking for way too much tbh.

@N0-11: Ay, there's the rub: the only way to cut out the middle-man is to handle everything yourself. :x

Now I don't know anything about online shops, and I don't know if they work with us little people, but my reflex thought was TopatoCo. I know a couple people that use Makeship, but pretty much all the merch is stuffed toys and they only run a limited production line.

@Thorvald: The conundrum I'm dealing with is I want to sell my own merch to people that might be interested in it, I don't want to use only Paypal because I don't want some sketchy company running away with my money (looking at you wells fargo, and I want to use a service that'll help me with mailing stuff to my customers when they buy something, maybe I'm being too picky or something. (I don't know if TopatoCo will work as a place to sell your stuff, I dunno, unless it's for coding inspo or something.)

@Thorvald: I will keep that Topatco store in the back of my mind though, hmm.

@N0-11: Aye, I had a conversation about PayPal the other day; I might've leveraged my hobbies for money much earlier if I wasn't utterly terrified by how this stuff works online. :p I don't know for sure If TopatoCo handles production or is just a distributor; if you're making the merch yourself, Etsy may be a viable marketing arm.

@Thorvald: In all fairness, I mostly just want to add designs to shirts and stuff and have somebody else ship the items for me, like a third party.
