A member of the Scarlet Lancers in the IOT spin-off The Multipolar World. Born to a rural farming family in eastern China, she was the sole survivor of an ill-fated encounter with a military patrol that left her permanently scarred, in an illustration of the wanton violence that underwrote the People's Republic of Xinjiang in the early game. Finding her way to the Lancers, she was trained as a communications officer in its combat operations wing, the "National Army", and served in their observer delegation to the United Nations, where her charismatic personality established her as a public icon of the Chinese resistance, wearing her eyepatch as a visual public reminder of the brutality inflicted on common citizens under the "China Six". Following the collapse of the Kingdom of China in 2165, she became the Co-operative Federation of Xinjiang's permanent representative; after the Monarchist insurrection in 2173, she returned to field duty and popular face of the emergent international alliance following GUNS' destruction of UN headquarters. In the game's novelized epilogue Blood Red Dawn, she coordinates the coalition forces near Xi'an strategizing a commando raid to capture Queen Liang.

Xiurong is mentioned in Multipolarity II; after the world war, she becomes a politician in the Federal Union of China, and at age 53 is elected Prime Minister.

• Her name is ordered in Western format; traditional Chinese as on her portrait renders as 秀荣蘭 (xiù-róng lán; "elegant glory orchid").
• Xiurong was created for the accompanying illustration to the roleplay interlude detailing CF Xinjiang's inaugural government; I had known at the time the eyepatch was from Christos-era torture, but I don't recall how much of her story was decided then and there. Social groups housing the game's UN body were lost following CivFanatics' switch to Xenforo in 2016, but I do not believe her ambassadorial career was affirmed in-game before the epilogue.

Her supreme commander as a Lancer soldier. The epilogue implies Xiurong is a personal aide, operating as a liaison officer during Operation Shah Mat.
