Huiqing Da Character Reference
Prime Minister of the Co-operative Federation of Xinjiang (2166–2173) in the IOT spin-off The Multipolar World. The leader of the Co-operative Alliance, a party spun out of the peacebuilding coalition that managed the democratic transition following the partition of the Kingdom of China in 2165; he presided over two majority governments, with diminished support in 2170 due to the party's noncommittal stance on the invasion of India by Australia and Korea the previous year. The Monarchist invasion in 2173 forces him into exile; he opts not to return to party politics when democracy is restored in 2179, but pursues a career in the civil service, and accompanies President Deming in his speech declaring the foundation of the Federal Union of China in the novelized epilogue Blood Red Dawn. The epilogue to Multipolarity II reveals Da chairs the UN Human Rights Committee for eight years.
- His name Da Huiqing was sourced as "intelligent liberal-good-luck", but did not provide the glyphs, which I have only partially identified.
- Da's appearance is loosely modelled on one of the two characters to whom Mr. Toyoda acted as sidekick in the pre-DYOS comic.
Jianguo Deming
President of CF Xinjiang, under whom he serves two terms. Da accompanies him for his founding address at the end of the epilogue.
The Red Lotus
Leader of the Scarlet Lancers who lays the ground for a democratic China and administrates the transitional authority prior to his election in 2166. Harbours him during exile between the Monarchist invasion in 2173 and restoration of democracy following Operation Shah Mat in 2179.
The China Six
Existential enemies. The MP2 Epilogue reveals four assassination attempts are made during his exile, and Monarchist remnants continue to harass him in the postwar years.
