@fragmented_imagination: Not so far as I know; it was based on an original idea predating DYOS, and while the Cosmonarmada makes reference to Classical Persia and the Ottomans in its arsenal, there's no direct link to the Middle East.

SVG reconstruction of a raster flag submitted to taillesskangaru's original defunct DeviantArt account, uploaded on the DYOS Wiki in 2015. While Taillenia itself had been retired by the end of DYOS X and this flag is non-canon, it's a decidedly more grounded palette than its synthwave precursor and I immediately fell in love with it. tailless also made variant flags for the armed forces, but I never made an attempt at them before the gallery was shuttered.

@chaseawaythedark: Sort of: the Eastern Union isn't technically a nation and is specific to DYOS, but it's the closest contender to a persistent project.
Indeed, the colors of this one make it feel like a more genuine flag. Was there supposed to be some Islamic connotation to this design? Because this combination of colors is common to Islamic nations.
