Little Prayer-LittleLight ForestDream by @XxTheCreativeKitsunexX (XxTheCreativeKitsunexX)

A while ago I had a contest with fans of what music series did everyone like best that I do and I would choose a Random winner from those who entered both on WHAT series they liked and WHY. The series from Dream Tracks, Dark Kitsunes, RetroGrand Symphony or GrandLaner and Based on their their reasons and how well they wrote about their favorite series. I will admit was a tough choice but a winner was chosen and as his prize was a track done exclusively for him to use how he sees fit and is based on either a series of my many music styles or a whole custom track made from scratch.

BlazeDr- Chose to go with an enchanted forest. His very detailed vision of what he wanted the track was a challenge but one I took head on and this is the final outcome. Please enjoy and go visit his page as well and show some support for his works.

BlazeDr's Vision for his track is as follows-

The idea is a child in a magical enchanted forest at night in the GrandLaner style. The scene would be a dark spooky forest with small amount of bio luminescent plants dotting the trees. You know you shouldn't be there, you were warned about how dangerous it is but curiosity got the best of you as you find yourself deep in the forest. With a little bit of courage that you have left you touch a glowing plant...It pulses brightly so vibrant and brightly it set the one next to it off. Mushrooms, moss, ferns, and even the bugs flair! Like a chain reaction the forest lights up like a ripple with you at the center where it slowly dims. Wide eyed at the beauty unfolding before you and the joy that only builds your excitement the farther the ripple goes. You Came to a conclusion and that is the need to touch everything and you need to do it now! After a long euphoric run through the forest you made to the center of a meadow where you flop down exhausted on your back for a long rest. The forest around you aglow, the sky above that seems to be competing with the twinkle of stars. If you could describe the night it would be "perfect" as you slowly close your eyes and sleep in the enchanted forest.

That opening motif perfectly evokes an animatic storybook. Now all we need is Judi Dench narrating. HAV - Hatshepsut

@Thorvald: Yeah the opening was meant to sound like something whimsical was going to happen and gave an peek into what the rest of the track would sound like to the audience. The main thing was to make the track unique as to keep the audience guessing what I would do next.

I can definitely see the scene as described playing out with the music! Very well done!

@BadKarma: Thank you yeah I had a fun time coming up with that track while using only a description that was given to me of what the winner wanted his track to represent and how it was to sound like. I think the hardest part for me was the speed up and slow down of the instruments as I am used to doing a steady rhythm to my works. In the end this was a really great learning track that showed me how to adjust the BMP on the fly, its not perfect but I have a better understanding of how it works and how professional musicians use it to create tension in their music.

@XxTheCreativeKitsunexX: Necessity is the mother of invention. ;P My only experience with "compositional" software is a track-loop program over a decade ago; I can only imagine how tricky it is to shift speed mid-phrase, especially using multiple instruments.

@Thorvald: *Funny enough my first experience with compositional material was Mario Paint then it was MTV Music generator or Music maker 2000 as it was called in other countries. I was able to learn how to set up sounds on top of each other and how to properly create my own custom made sounds in MTV Music Gen, from then on I moved up to Propellerhead's Reason software and ended up using Cubase. *
