Ekkehard's Folly, Part I
Ekkehard's Folly, Part I by @Thorvald (El Thorvaldo)

My 20th submission to DYOS X.ii. [link]

The original idea for the Innsbruck Offensive was entirely e350tb's; he'd originally planned for Schäffer to take the fall, but I thought passing responsibility to Ekkehard would help outline both their characters, particularly Schäffer's contempt for his subordinate.

For a first try, Ackbar turned out crazy good. The chair sale is in homage to the newspapers in Angus McLeod's Simple Version comics.

The painting in Brusilov's office is the same one as seen in Syracuse.

There is just so much going on with that newspaper, and it's all hilarious!

@fragmented_imagination: Mock newspapers are a particular favourite of mine. :B I once had a school assignment where an option was "Describe the ending of this famous story like it was a newspaper article." Being a history buff, I proceeded to cram in as many period references as I could; my favourite was "Christian and Tilly Clash at Stadtlohn; Experts Predict War Over by Christmas."
