The Aundi; A race of mild telepathic, energy vampires.

They absorb the energy, nutrients as well as some memories and emotions from their victims through their hands and fingers. From the pores in their hands they secrete a sedative mucus that will incapacitate their prey. Being drained by an Aundi isn't outright lethal, though attacks such as these can be carried out in such intensity and continuation that they do kill; leaving the prey a desiccated husk.

Though usually they keep prey alive for long periods of time and consume their lives over years even. The Aundi find the consumption of memories and feelings to be particularly enjoyable and stimulating; when they have a wealth of prey around them, they tend to go after the more intelligent or emotionally unstable targets.

In fact in Aundi religious beliefs; a prophesied duty of their species is to consume all the knowledge in the universe and store it for eternity. Their empathic senses allow them to hunt their prey; tracking them and routing them out of their hiding places; in their native tropical swampy environment; they cannot be out run or hidden from, merely a head start.

Sokisa isn't particularly malicious about her feeding habits; on planets or aboard space stations she will usually befriend an outsider without the rest of the crew knowing and use this to set up her attack.

Leaving a dehydrated and semi conscious victim in a confused and weakened state.
