This takes me back to an old arcade game anthology CD I picked up God-knows-where... Come to think of it, one of the games was a side-scroller starring two foxes in a biplane bombing a desert base. :P
GrandLaner Arcade Stage 2-Sky Wards On! by @XxTheCreativeKitsunexX (XxTheCreativeKitsunexX)
Made for a Cute Em Up Think Parodius or Cotton
And for a on permanent Hiatus GrandLaner Project This track was done up for a future production video game project coming after Galaxy Savior is complete
I wanted to hearken back to the 1990s Konami style music that was very prevalent in arcades at that time with the likes of Gradius and Parodius series of games as well as other companies like Data East and Capcom bringing out banging tunes in their games especially Konami's Monster Mauler arcade game which was heavy inspiration for this track.
This is the first stage track that introduces the hero of the game to the player and the world where launching firework missiles at enemies flying enemy airships that when hit jump out of their ships and parachute to the ground while waving a little white flag of surrender.
This was the game planned originally instead of Galaxy Savior as I always wanted to do a cute em up style game but because of my lack of understanding game mechanics and 2d 3d object building, was put to the side and Galaxy Savior took hold cause a space shooter is easier to work with for someone just starting out game development.
Second Stage is a more playful track with the player flying through the clouds shooting down penguins in inner tubes that throw ice cubes. The background bounces around to the beat of the music and changes color as the player's little chibi airship darts around falling Tanuki who turn into stone as they find the player below them. All the while the scrolling background of the first boss an enemy pirate airship looms in the background menacingly.

@Thorvald: Hmmm I have never heard of that game I will have to look into it. Cool that you were able to find a game anthology CD for arcade.
@XxTheCreativeKitsunexX: Those halcyon days when computer manuals were physical books... :')
@BadKarma: That was the plan, but same time wanted a light hearted and fun loving little score to blast baddies to. check out the music for Parodius and monster maulers you will see where I got the inspiration for this track.
@Thorvald: I know right! I miss those days thankfully SOME companies *mainly indie developed games have not forgotten those days, my copies of Carrion and Tunic came with the most amazing physical manuals. It just goes to show how some developers are still passionate about making games and ACTUALLY put in effort into everything including whats inside the game case.
Sweet track! Good heroic, action theme.
