For Halloween one year, my pet tanuki was a kitsune. I fashioned large fox ear covers for her true ears, a fox cloak, and a fake set of nine tails. Backfired in one of the towns though, since people were unaccustomed enough to seeing a tanuki in person that they thought she was a yorkie wearing heavy raccoon makeup wearing a fox costume. Ended up just having her go as herself every year after that, nobody knew the wiser.

I don't have any pets, but I've always wanted a pet aardvark so I could dress him up as Arthur and then take him on walks to the tune of "everybody walkin down the street". If only there was like a kind of cosplay trade where people could trade cosplay pieces/parts.

That's one of my frequent accidental cosplays and I can confirm that's something I do every time as a joke.
