DYOS 10: The Avatar Wars
Order 66 by @Thorvald (El Thorvaldo)
My 85th submission to DYOS X. [link]
Part and parcel of CG's ignorance of Dune lore was the fact that he treated the planet as some lawless frontier world. When my previous hints that it wasn't such a forgotten backwater went unrecognized, I decided to up the pressure. With a mallet. While Coruscant reaches a cease-fire with the Combine by the end of the story, the Imperium continues a retaliatory campaign in the background that is arguably the real reason the Combine can't fight New Port directly in Part II.
This was my first, and thus far only use of Empire Earth, which I had recently purchased. The game was the trademark of the Styles Brothers throughout previous DYOSes.

@Thorvald: 😆
@The-Wizard-of-Zaar: Could be worse. CivGeneral would fly off the lid when people couldn't remember some inane detail about his micronation that was never actually made public, meanwhile I figure "Everyone's heard of Dune, surely?" and he goes generic Mid al-Eastan with the usual shot of I'm-better-than-everyone-elseism.
Yeeeeeah, the Emperor in Dune was kind of a moron. Seems like the only reason Paul let him live was so he could enjoy watching the Harkonnens get laid in the dirt.
