Sketchbook Marionette
Sketchbook Marionette by @Agondray

High school sketchbook drawing #17. Also the fourth I did for the Halloween season.

I’m sure at least some percent of human population by now has at least heard about Five Nights at Freddy’s at this rate. I remember hearing about the first game coming out when I was in high school from some of my friends. Nowadays, it’s a whole franchise that has remained popular to this day. I haven’t played any of the games, but I have watched Markiplier’s let’s play of the first four.

Anyways, this is Marionette from the second FNAF game. Honestly, this is one of the creepier animatronics in my opinion. The face literally being a mix of a puppet and a crying child. Yeah, there is some very dark lore in the FNAF universe. I did a drawing of it because of the simple but effective design, and that I didn’t want to bother drawing endoskeleton parts for a weekly sketch.

Enjoy!

P.S. I had a similar dilemma with rating this drawing as did with the Makanora concepts.

Marionette (C) of Scott Cawthon.

"no puppet man that's illegal"
—Five Nights at [REDACTED]boy's

I can't stand horror so I've never played the games, but he nailed the aesthetic such that even just reading the wiki pages managed to get under my skin. Fortunately the memes buffed out the menace such that even I could riff on it. (Note to self: Figure out how that piece rates on S7)

Then Cawthon's political donations came to light, and I'm not even sure I'd want to finish the couple other spoofs I'd thought up. :/

@Thorvald: Oh yeah, memes have the power alright!

I personally would prefer to not talk about politics or agendas, as that is a VERY dividing and heated topic. I’ve seen and read enough stuff to know that the world is not all “black and white” and that instead there are huge “gray” areas, especially in today’s cultural and societal climate. I may not agree with everyone or everything I’ve come across, but I like to keep myself open-minded nowadays. I’m sure Scott has his own personal reasons, as does everybody with their thoughts and choices. I have my own opinions and thoughts as well, though I’ll admit that they have changed over time and have continued to change throughout my life. Some stuff I’m with, some I’m against. Other stuff I am personally divided on. Whatever the case, I always, ALWAYS do at least a decent amount of research on all sides before I jump to conclusions.

I understand why you would be uncomfortable with finishing your spoofs, I get it. I’ve been in similar situations before. Whether you decide to do them or not, that is ultimately your choice. I just wanted to share some insight with you. Humans are complicated creatures, and not everything is as it seems to be.
