First vixen of the new year! Actually, I have a legitimate excuse this time: back in October or thereabouts, I was made aware of an art contest for Japanese mythological persons or creatures. Well, not only did I feel like I was contractually obliged to respond, it gave me the impetus to act on one of the many ideas that swirl about in my head but have been backlogged for the better part of last year. I thought I'd be able to start sooner, but winter turned out to be much tighter than I anticipated and my holidays were a lot busier than planned, and so I only managed to start work on this yesterday. It's a few steps back from what was probably too ambitious a goal to begin with, the coffee table on the right is misaligned, this was uploaded away from my regular workstation and due to the scanner cropping the borders post-production editing pushes it off-centre, but even if I'm less and less confident that I'm a contender, it was fun to do and good practice on a character that we'll actually be seeing quite a bit of in future. ;)

She's technically a seven-tailed kitsune; the middle tail is hidden behind her back. The text on the wall reads Keizoku wa chikara nari and roughly translates as "Perseverance is strength".
