The ruins of Piedmont Factory are haunted by the ghosts of the children who were once made to toil endlessly in its walls, all the way to their demise in the Night of the Fire. Trapped in the building they hated in life, each ghost is an echo of their own unique tragedy. Intelligent and driven for his age; Eugene Cunningham took every opportunity to gather the favor from Godwin, the owner of Piedmont Factory. He designed more and more efficient work plans with larger cost savings, though often at the cost of the worker’s already grueling living conditions, something Godwin approved of. Almost everyone in Piedmont, adult and children workers alike, hated Eugene. Egoistic and condescending as he was, he was easy to hate. However, Eugene’s motivation changed from ambition to fear. Piedmont Factory was very much in the red and he knew Godwin might do something drastic soon if this wasn’t corrected. He was right and unfortunately, despite his efforts, even Godwin’s little lackey would eventually become collateral during the Night of the Fire.

A logical mind does not handle the supernatural well and Eugene sanity waned at his ephemeral resurrection. He and the few friends he had, have spent the last thirty years of unlife ruminating theories and committing horrifying experiments on both the living and even his fellow dead, all in an effort to understand and perhaps even cure their post mortem state.
