Jango the Hexxilian
Jango the Hexxilian by @Agondray

Another Hexxilian character!

This guy is/was named Jango. He was supposed to be a friend of Hornex, but most wouldn’t know that as he usually prefers to keep to himself. Jango himself doesn’t have much of a sense of humor and tends to be one of those “no-nonsense” kind of people, always preferring to get straight to the point. He makes a career in bounty hunting, with a preference for decent to high paying jobs involving dangerous criminals and outlaws. He generally wields two Magnum-style handguns whenever he is engaged in combat, regardless if it’s on the job or self defense. His clothing style is unusual for other Hexxilians, even to those outside Hornex’s tribe. He tends to wear leather boots, black pants with a brown studded leather belt, a black zipper jacket, and a black hat(he likes black!). Despite being “adopted” into Hornex’s clan and making friends with a few of its’ members, Jango is often considered an outcast to most. His attire, profession, and personality often make him seem like an outsider to other members of his kind, especially since he doesn’t identify himself to any tribes or clans. Although he doesn’t like to show it and mostly keep to himself, he does care for his friends and anyone he feels he can trust.

This guy is definitely going to get a bit of an overhaul in the next universe. I wanted to change his design to something that better reflects his character, instead of looking like a mafia wannabe. As with Claudia, ‘Jango’ is also getting a name change. I originally borrowed the name and his twin handgun style off of Jango Fett from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, but now both of those aspects are out as I don’t want to play copycat or get into any possible legal trouble. I’m reimagining him now as a member of his species who just adopted and is comfortable with “outsider” weaponry, fashion, and customs. His personality will remain mostly intact, though!

What do think?

it me :o Just kidding, but if this series was a video game, I'd main Jango. No doubt.

@Cynicallia: I had a feeling you would like him! Hits that gun-wielding bounty hunter vibe I assume? (eyebrows go up and down twice)

Honestly, if he were in a video game, I could see him being a range-and-melee type of character. He’s got firepower AND fists! Hornex on the other hand would definitely be more of a melee fighter.

@Agondray: Hahaa, exactly. Fists are cool and all, but a clever character packs a little something extra, in case of emergencies. Personally, I've never attempted to wield two guns at once, unless we go back to the 1980's when I had multiple NES gun controllers. That might be a cool party trick, but if you carry big ones with a strong kick, you're going to want that extra hand to be stabilizing your grip. Then again, if you really build up your arms and wrists, you could probably do it, AND you'd look like a buff chad.

@Cynicallia: I guess Jango could be carrying brass knuckles or a military knife if he had to get up close and personal. Perhaps a different kind of melee weapon entirely!

I’ve dual-wielded Nerf guns before, if that counts. Hopefully those NES guns were put to good use for Duckhunt. Well, at least enough ducks taken down to keep that frickin’ dog from giggling at you! XD (If you never played Duckhunt, it’s fine. Neither did I in that case. Never owned a NES either.)

Oh yeah, I’ve had some experience with wielding big guns, particularly shotguns. Those things definitely have some kickback when fired and are pretty weighty too. I used to go to target shooting contests with my dad and grandpa, which is where I first learned to wield and actually fired a real gun to begin with. Despite what action movie heroes show, trying to wield one in one hand would really be harder than you would think. Sadly, I cannot count myself as one of those absolute chads, as I lack the proper muscle and skill in accomplishing such a feat. :(

@Agondray: I can't tell you how many times I've shot at that damned dog for laughing at me XD Duck Hunt was fun, and there were also some other shooting games on the NES, like Wild Gunman. I have some great memories from that one.

Nerf guns, yeah, I can see that. But otherwise, even my CO² BB gun is heavy enough that I wouldn't feel safe using only one hand on it. Mmm, shotguns. So many of my childhood bruises were big, purple imprints on my chest/arm zone from the kickback. Nowadays, I'm rocking meaner gear than my mother's old can poppers, but fortunately, my grip is much better so there aren't any more bruises from that. I'm glad to hear that your family introduced you to guns and let you get to experience them in a safe and sane way. Too many people these days only "know" what they were "taught" in school (Active Shooter Drills, for example, guaranteeing that every child needs a therapist by age six) and from the news and modern video games, which is.. grossly inaccurate, to say the least.

@Cynicallia: Oh yeah, I’m sure you did! Many other people share that sentiment toward that dog! XD I’ve never heard of Wild Gunman until now, but it does sound fun! I grew up mainly playing the SNES and the Dreamcast(the latter moreso than the former), and later in my late childhood to throughout my teen years, the Wii and PS3. My favorite games were both Sonic Adventures and Soul Calibur. A lot of the Wii games were fun too, especially with other people.

Wow, that’s kind of a nice handgun! Yeah, the kickback did take some getting used to. I remember in the mornings after, I would actually feel a little sore in the arm and shoulder region. But over time, I got better at using a shotgun and the soreness became less and less. I myself don’t truly own any guns, as I mainly borrowed one of my dad’s shotguns, but I do have a crossbow which I won at a basket raffle. Honestly though, I too am glad that my family taught me about firearms and showed me how to use one responsibly in a safe way! I feel bad for the kids and teens who have to go through that anti-gun propaganda. That was almost never a thing throughout my school years, elementary or high! What the media and those ‘anti-gun’ people don’t realize, or refuse to accept, is that guns themselves don’t kill people. Evil-minded, malicious people do! Guns are just a weapon, a tool; similar to a knife, club, or even a bow! If wielded in the right hands, guns can actually save lives; by stopping those who would do others harm. That’s the whole point why the Second Amendment even exists! People should be grateful we have that right to keep and bare arms in case we need to fight or defend ourselves! Innocent people in too many other countries aren’t so lucky!

@Cynicallia: Exactly!

I’ll have to add that song to my library! Thanks!
