Anyone else joining ArtFight this year? This is my 4th year joining and would love to follow some other active users uvu
Here's my link https://artfight.net/~TeaLeo I'm on team Vampire this year, mostly so I can use this emoji 🦇 any time I run out of ideas for a quippy title alkefj

I’m there! c: this is my first year joining! ^u^ I haven’t posted any attacks yet but I have a few in the works that I’m chipping away at. https://artfight.net/~Fihyn
Absolutely not.
If I can drag Evie out of bed long enough, there's gonna be a full blown art war right here on this very site.
Creative atrocities will be committed, mass graves will be drawn, fictional planets will burn.

I'm awake.
The only thing my art is fighting with is work consuming my time
Not after all the drama I've seen this year on Twitter surrounding beginner artists and the "low quality" of their art etc.
What takes an expert an easy rushed hour might take a beginner several hours of focus and it's elitist gatekeeper trash to whinge about omg beginners having the audacity to dare draw your characters for free. This isn't even a traditional art trade so you don't have to give them art in return, just say thanks (even if you obviously don't mean it) and move on to draw for someone more your skill level. No need to be rude and discourage people just starting out.
omg that's cancerous. one of my fav things ever in art trade games is getting art from a beginner and (though I'm far from an expert) being able to blast them with my best polished pieces in return because that art ends up being treasured. so glad I don't have a twitter haha
Me: goes on Twitter
Me (a few seconds later): Wait a minute... I hate Twitter,"
Elon hates poor people, especially if they're not verified cyborgs :3 https://twitter.com/halomancer1/status/1680039297637040129
And yeah though also people I know on AF draw hard effort and someone who actually is good responds with something not very good just because the person who spent effort isn't popular. Meanwhile the same people rage at beginners for not drawing their art good enough to even respond.
I can understand though, they only got so much energy, and people more like to do it with friends or people they want to do AF with. It's just toxic as well as its unfair on people who especially don't really know anyone lol.
Artfight is the sort of thing I'd love to do, but my work ethic is an absolute tyre pyre so you'd be lucky to get a scribble back within the year. x_x
Yeah people on AF can be trash, but that's with any website and event tbh. Especially one of this size
It's part of the reason I like to make posts like these to see who's going to be active and worth fighting there. I'm not one to judge on experience or skill, it's just a fun yearly game.
You can also look at folk's stats to see if they're truly active or if they're the type that mooches free art (because there's a lot of that too..)
It can be a bit of a hassle but I do a bit of research on each person I plan to attack via their profile (comments etc.) to see if they're the toxic type, and if they are, then no art for them ¯_(ツ)_/¯
idk it's my 4th year there and it's a lot of fun if you have a group of people you know are "legit" and not these crazy toxic drama folk
yuhh im doing it its my first year its been a ton of fun so far! https://artfight.net/~4FFLU3NZ4 im on vampires yippee (totally not just cuz i like red..)
adding onto previous comments: i dont get people who complain about beginners drawing their characters its so mean.. like they poured their heart and soul into drawing your character 4 free and all you so is bitch about it what the hell? very happy i havent seen or had 2 deal with any assholes over there so far
I hope people are at least enjoying it. I see AF posts from time to time.
When I see AF posts it sort of gives me those annual wizards' cup trials vibes, but where wizards wield art instead of hogwarts magic.
I don't get people who complain about beginner artists, I encourage all artists to keep drawing and having fun
Here's my artfight: https://artfight.net/~starryfl0wer I revenge everyone back :o3
Also have a artfight hitlist!! https://forms.gle/spgMZL2zX4UL26Jq7 (planning people to attack hehe)
This will probably be my second year, so I should have some new characters up around the time ArtFight starts again.
Here's my account: https://artfight.net/~Shadane

It's far too early for me to know If I'm going to take part this year, but here's my page anyway https://artfight.net/~Polar-Tang
I just play very casually and prefer to keep things as low pressure as possible so I only set a very small attack goal for myself of one a week for the duration of the event. Unfortunately I still haven't fulfilled it due to running into problems or other things that prevent me from doing as much art as I planned.

Oof, I had no idea that was happening. I know that hating on beginners has always been a thing, but it feels like most people expect you to be at a professional level the moment you start nowadays. I would've eaten alive by twitter if I started today. That being said, I like how Artfight acts as an informal art trade event. If I see a character that I like, I can just draw them and post it on the site with zero worries about the other party(But maybe that's just me being too scared to talk to people lol).
I also know that Artfight is under new management this year, so I'm curious to see how it goes: https://artfight.net/~Casteso
